To all Members of the PSHS (System) National Alumni Association, Inc. who are in good standing (i.e., active members):
Please be informed that there will be a Special General Meeting of the Association and Board of Trustees Meeting
on Saturday, 18 October 2008
from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
at the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) in Diliman, Quezon City.
The meeting agenda includes the following:
1. Referendum on the proposed merger between the Philippine Science High School Alumni Association (PSHSAA) and the Philippine Science High School (System) National Alumni Association (PSHSSNAI or PSHSNAA).
2. Approval of minutes of the 2007 Annual Meeting.
3. Other Matters.

The PSHS System Board of Trustees

Note: We received requests from some alumni to post information about the PSHS Board of Trustees. Below are some information gathered from the PSHS website (http://www.pshs.edu.ph):
The Board of Trustees is the highest policy making body of the PSHS System.
The Executive Director coordinates the implementation of these policies and guidelines.
The Executive Committee, composed of the directors of the different PSHS campuses and chaired by the Executive Director, is a collegial body that recommends policies and guidelines for the consideration of the Board.
The PSHS System Board of Trustees is composed of eight ex oficio members and five private sector representatives.
The PSHS System Board of Trustees for AY 2008-2009 are:

Please be informed that the Philippine Science High School Alumni Association (PSHS AA) Board of Directors will conduct a REFERENDUM during the PSHS Alumni Association Annual Meeting/Grand Alumni Homecoming on 6 September 2008 at the PSHS Gymnasium in Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City.
The referendum is needed before the planned merger between the Philippine Science High School Alumni Association and the Philippine Science High School System Alumni Association (PSHS NAA) can materialize.
A separate referendum will be conducted by the PSHS NAA Board of Trustees for active members of the PSHS (System) National Alumni Association (PSHS NAA).
Below is the REFERENDUM QUESTION to be answered by active members of the PSHS AA and PSHS NAA in separate referenda:
Do you approve the merger between the Philippine Science High School Alumni Association (PSHSAA) and the Philippine Science High School System National Alumni Association (PSHSSNAAI or PSHSNAA) with the surviving entity adopting the name "Philippine Science High School National Alumni Association" and the proposed merger constitution and by-laws?
This question is answerable by either YES or NO.
A majority vote (50% of active members plus one) is needed to effect the merger.
