They will discuss what it is like to work in an NGO, their organizations' missions, the challenges they face, and how PSHS alumni around the world can benefit by tapping into the network of PSHS alumni who are working with NGO's. We will also provide listeners with the latest news about our activities to benefit PSHS.

" I'm a Pisay Alumni also. Personally, I think it's good that they're
already considering the fact that they need to give these students a
chance, having proven themselves worthy of the diploma for the last 3 years
and probably also the previous 3 quarters of their 4th year. It's fair
that they're giving them a chance.

But what I find disturbing is the monumental detail that they only
chose to discuss this and take notice of these kinds of incidents when it
already has made noise in the blogging community and after almost
reaching all forms of media broadcasting (good thing it was only thru blogs
and forums that this issue was discussed). I now find it a little unfair
because they used to find or treat the issue as very minute, and not
threatening at any level.

I'm just disappointed that they never thought of the possibility of
these things happening beforehand.

Current Issue in Pisay: Summer Remedial Program for 4th Year Students and the Pisay Diploma

During the past few weeks, several PSHS alumni reacted to a recent decision of the PSHS Board of Trustees (BOT) to introduce a summer remedial program for 4th year students who got a final grade of 5.0 (FAILED) in a 4th year subject. If these students PASS an exam to be given in summer (April - May 2008) then they will be given a PSHS diploma. If not, then they are still eligible to apply for a DepEd diploma.After several consultations the Philippine Science High School Alumni Association (PSHS AA) Board of Directors (BOD) released a board resolution for submission to the PSHS Board of Trustees.Below is the link to the PSHS BOD resolution:

Greetings to all Philippine Science High School (PSHS or Pisay) Alumni from all campuses! The current board members of the Philippine Science High School Alumni Association (PSHS AA) in cooperation with the Philippine Science High School National Alumni Association (NAA) would like to supplement the PSHS Alumni website (http://www.pshsaa.org/) with an official blog: PISAY! (PSHS Alumni Forum and Updates).

The aim of PISAY! is to inform the PSHS Alumni from all campuses about current issues and concerns pertaining to the PSHS alumni. It also aims to solicit feedback/comments/reactions/suggestions regarding these issues and concerns.
